Ever since Christmas Eve, I’ve been playing Cranium and Taboo with my cousins. It’s so addicting. I’m still not sure if they’re better than Monopoly, but it’s awfully close.
Hahahahaahahahhahahaha my family of some 20+ cousins, aunts, uncles, babies, and unfortunate significant others of said cousins play Taboo every Christmas in Arkansas. My team won yet again. And when I mean every year, I mean since last year. Gotta love Vietnamese people and games. We sure go through them.
Partini —> Taboo —> SPOONS —> Texas Hold ‘Em —> not sleeping till 3/4am (And of course Killer is in there somewhere, too.)
bc I am a sucker for typography and bold color combinations and words. a suckerrr I tell you.
PS. You click on the image it goes to Amazon of the artist, bc those words are a song lyric that also is on the bottom left, if you want to hear the song. Very cool concept. But I’d rather do something like this for books…
Some people have really awesome Tumblrs. They show their Tweetings on it. They have a Tumblview thingy. They have a Play Music option to play their musics. They have a COOL stuff, and mine is SO lame. I need to change that. I am feeling envious right now.
What this is…
A growing network and enterprise dedicated to the progress of the graphic design profession and its practitioners, students and enthusiasts. At times intangible, its purpose is to question, push, analyze and agitate graphic design and those involved in the profession…
Yet another thing I need to do/learn how to do/read up on/stop being so damn lazy and just fn do it already. Maybe in the hiatus between graduation and getting my first real job I will finally commit to teaching myself some stuff. (A couple of my friends have been out a semester—engineers—who have not yet gotten jobs so that is looking good for me in having time to do my own thing… also looking bad if I want to make some money… oh dear.)
I am a genius. I just installed something on my computer so that I can save Word docs as PDFs. I can’t believe I figured that out allllll by myself.
(I did it so I could send my resume out without having issues with font discrepancies. Adeline has some really nice friends with connections that told me they’d help me find some leads as far as internships for the Spring are concerned. I really need to secure one ASAP, so here’s to happy hunting.)
Case 1: Lina, Kenneth, and Shane
After passing up a spot on 6th and Colorado only to find out there was no where to park closer to 4th and Colorado we circled back to said open spot. With my blinker and reverse lights on I proceeded to back up into the space when a car goes in, head first. I stop my car and put my flshers on and roll down my window to tell the stupid girl and her beau to get out of my spot. They refuse. Kenneth gets out of the car to tell them to leave. A homeless guy on a wheelchair rolls up and tells them to move. Nothing happens. They proceed to try to parallel park in this ILLEGAL INCORRECT way. I get huffy.
A cop pulls up beside us to ask the problem. They proceed to leave the spot and tell me to move up so they can move out. I do so. Kenneth is outside helping them out.
THENNN another car pulls into the spot and IGNORES Kenneth as he taps on her window. She parks and gets out of her car and argues with us for 5 minutes after 10 minutes of this nonsense just took place. She states that, and I quote, "I’m from Manhattan and I’m not a nice person about parking." To which Kenneth responds, “well, I’m from Houston so it doesn’t matter where you’re from.” I say, “well, I’m from Austin and that is where you are and here, you park the correct way which is BACK into the space as I was doing.”
It did not end well. Kenneth, and myself, and the homeless wheelchair man were talking which turned into yelling at her and she just locked her car and went on her snobbish hoitey toitey way. I hope she breaks her leg or a car hits her or something big, like a bridge collapses on her car while she is in it. I hate people like that. I haven’t been this infuriated in a long long longgg time. I’m so over people like that. I want to punch her in the face and spit on her. And I know that is not the mature bigger person way of handling a situation like this but karma is a bitch and will come back to bite her in the ass. She’s already and ugly poor girl (driving an ugly beat up white klunker) from Manhattan, and apparently mean, too so I suppose she’s already got it back compared to me. In any case, I hate her and I hope bad things happen to her as they should to bad mean people. Especially during the holidays.
Case 2: Adeline and Jer
Apparently they parked in a parking structure close to the place where we were meeting for the Tweetup (Six Lounge, which was really nice actually) for $7 and Jer needed change so the parking attendant gave him some and upon handing the change back he asked, “is there a tip?” To which Jer responded, “that is rude to ask.” (Which made me laugh.)
Then the idiot scoffed and said, “and you drive that Mercedes Benz over there and can’t give a tip?”
Honestly, what is going on. I might as well start valeting.
"If you pay money maybe you won’t get hassled." —Jer, regarding unfortunate parking experiences of tonight.
Note: Kenneth said that his correct quote was, “well, I’m from Houston and my girlfriend is from Round Rock so it doesn’t matter where you’re from.”
The generation gap that is seemingly so small and the technology gap is SO freakin redic. The difference between someone I met today (31) and myself (23) is apparently huge, so he tells me and I know the difference between my youngest sister and I and her peers (17) is even bigger.
It amazes me, technology and the Internet, and people. Like whoa.
Ba-da bing, ba-da boom. I am satisfied with this grade. Go me. Three tests and a research paper (I wrote over the summer for my composition class—that saved my life, I only had to add like 3 paragraphs to it, and no, it was NOT cheating as it was MY own paper thank you very much).
Adeline’s for 4 hours of work
late lunch with Jenna
Christmas shopping at the Domain (mainly looking for Heather’s) with Jenna
(note to self: need to get Christmas cards)
Dinner with Heather and her family
Trail of Lights with Heather and her family, possibly Kenneth if he stops being a party pooper/negative Nancy/Debbie downer
possibly meeting my family at the airport to pick up Liz
My credit limit just went up from $200 to $700 which is great because Christmas is just around the corner and I’ve gotta get my ticket for the cruise. And I’ve been working a lot this week so my check should be nice and next week will be killer and then it’s celebration time in Houston, then back in Austin, then Arkansas then back to work for two weeks and then a cruise! Busy busy busy weeks.
And when I say I’ve been working a lot I mean I go in around 10/11am and get home around 10/11pm. No joke.
